Galapagos Angelique Full, Detailed and day by day itinerary

Monday: Baltra – Bachas, Santa Cruz

Departure from the airport Quito and 3 ½ hour flight to the Galapagos Islands. The guide will pick you up from the Baltra airport and bring you on board of the Angelique.

While you enjoy your lunch on deck we sail to the Playas Bachas, where Sea Lions can often be seen. These two beaches are made of very fine white sand which comes from eroded coral riffs. For this reason it is a favored breeding place for Sea turtles. Behind the beaches there is a small lagoon where we often find Flamingos as well as other Seabirds. In the afternoon we will walk on the island to get more impressions.
Dinner on board.

Tuesday: Darwin Bay - Prince Phillip Step, Genovesa

Genovesa is the only Island with a colony of red footed and masked boobies. We also tend to find a lot of other interesting Seabirds. On the banks, Galapagos-Sea Lions greet us and Iguanas sunbath all around. On this Island we have two different walks, enabling us to discover its secrets. Afterwards we go for snorkeling and we watch the marvelous underwater world. Surely there will be some curious Sea Lions playing around us.

Wednesday: Sullivan Bay: Santiago – Bartholome

Breakfast on board.
We visit an almost 100-year-old lava stream at Sullivan Bay on the Island Santiago. On its surface we see printings of trees, which have been carved in from hot lava. But it’s also interesting to see how powerful small plants are slowly growing between the lava tears.

On Bartalomé Island we will walk to the highest point of the Island. Here we have in front of us a wonderful sight of volcanic formations. These moon-shaped formations is said to be the most beautiful Panorama of the whole Galapagos Archipel. Afterwards we will go for snorkeling and we discover beautiful colored fishes and maybe some penguins.

Thursday: Charles Darwin Station - Highlands, Santa Cruz

After an early breakfast we go on land at Puerto Ayora. This is a small port village from the Island Santa Cruz. Here we will visit the famous Charles Darwin Station where we learn a lot of projects to protect the Galapagos Islands and its natural inhabitants. In the afternoon we are exploring the Highlands of the Island where we meet the big and very ancient land turtles.

Friday: Post Office Bay - Cormorant Point, Floreana

On the Island Floreana we first visit the Post Office Bay. A historical wooden Barrel which has been left here from whale hunters in the 18th century has later on become a Post Office for the Galapagos visitors. Near of a Vulcan top named devil’s crown we have another opportunity for snorkeling. This very small island is an eroded Vulcan which has been formed from the strong and wild branding wages. The inside of this formation is a very preferred place for snorkeling while the outside is very interesting for Scuba Diving.

In the afternoon we visit the Cormorant Point at the other side of the island. This green beach is a wonderful place to observe different crabs and Sea Lions. Here also we will surely see Flamingos, ducks and many other birds. But the vegetation as well is full of surprises, because of its capacity to use the salty water resources for survival. At the end of the way we find again a white fine beach where land turtles breed.

Saturday: Gardener Bay - Suarez Point, Espanola

On this Island we first visit “Punta Suarez”. This rocky region guards one of the most astonishing bird colonies of the whole Archipel. The south cliffs give you a very good sight to coast birds and their nest places as well as to the famous “Blow Hole” where, due to strong current, the seawater is jumping up to 15 – 20 meters.

In the afternoon we visit Gardner Bay, which lies on the north east of the Island Española. On this beach we just relax, take our bath in the deep blue and join our neighbors, the Sea lions, which also lay sleepy on the beach.

Sunday: Santa Fé – Islas Plazas

In the early morning we reach Santa Fé where we stop at a picturesque port. We walk to a cliff where we find Iguanas and very high cactus near the beach.

Afterwards we continue our seaway to Plazas while enjoying our lunch. These two islands lay near Santa Cruz. With its unusual vegetation and standing place they show as an amazing variability of plants and birds. It is worth to go for snorkeling here!

Monday: North Seymour - Baltra

After sunrise we visit North Seymour Island. This is a very flat and low placed island, which has been created by undersea volcanic activities. Here you find a low and bushy vegetation and the biggest colony of frigate birds. But blue-footed boobies and our sea lions can also be seen there.

After this last excursion we are taking you back to the Port of Baltra to take the flight to Quito, where you arrive at about 4:30 pm.

Note: 4 day, 5 day, and 8 day (Thu) itineraries are the same. However, you will miss the morning activity on your arrival day and the afternoon visit on your departure day.
